Mechanism
A pattern, not a snapshot.
The DUTCH test uses dried urine samples collected at four points across a day to measure sex hormones, adrenal hormones and — critically — their metabolites.
Metabolites matter. Two people with identical estrogen levels can metabolise it down very different pathways, with different implications. Blood testing does not show this.
The cortisol awakening response, captured across the morning samples, is genuinely useful for stress and fatigue complaints where a single cortisol reading tells you almost nothing.
